The SellWell 2021 Gift Guide

marketing real estate tips Dec 02, 2021

Gifting season is officially here, and if you haven’t gotten started, you’re already behind. For Realtors, the holiday season can feel extra stressful. We spend all year nurturing our relationships, and if you’re doing your job right, gift lists can feel never ending (and expensive).

Before your head starts spinning with dollar signs, let us help you do the heavy lifting. Our gift guide has gifts at all price points — for all types of people and groups you may have on your list. This list is geared towards clients, prospects, and vendors, but you might just find an idea for a relative, friend, or even a special someone. Happy shopping!

Small Gifts for Big Groups

Sometimes showing a token of your appreciation during the holiday season is enough — especially when you’re shopping for big groups like past clients or vendors. These ideas are just creative enough to show you really care — and won’t break the bank. Plus, there are some great marketing opportunities mixed in to include your logo and name on the packaging.

DIY Sweetness in a Jar

This idea is simple to assemble, thoughtful, and low budget, too. To assemble a hot cocoa kit, fill the jar with cocoa powder, followed by marshmallows, followed by chocolate shavings. Tie a string around the top with a personalized recipe card and note from you! You might even include an adult-friendly add-in like a small bottle of peppermint schnapps for the right customer.

The same concept works with dry cookie ingredients, and is a fun way to feature a favorite holiday cookie recipe. Not feeling so creative? They sell these jars at Trader Joe’s for a steal and Etsy has lots of fun options like we linked below. Just be sure to add your own label and show off your branding where possible.

Cost: $12.99 Each

A Tumbler or Mug to Cheers to a Great Year

Can anyone ever have too many tumblers or mugs around? Not only are they easy to customize and order in bulk, but you can typically have them shipped directly to your client list without you lifting a finger. Tip: find a model you like and order a sample for yourself to make sure the quality is something you’d use in your home before ordering for others.

Cost: $8.72+ Each

A Fun Mid-Day Surprise: Caffeine Boost or Scratchers

Even if you only have an email address and no physical address for a giftee, you can still make sure they receive something special. For one thing, you can easily send Starbucks gift cards in bulk online — as well as delivery credits for Postmates and Uber Eats. If you do have an address or plan to see your giftee, you might consider picking up a gift card from a local coffee shop or even grabbing a few scratchers and a penny for scratching! Just remember to leave a personal note (dad jokes and puns encouraged).

Middle-of-the-Budget Gifts for Everyone on Your List

If your list is a little small to be considered “bulk” and you have a bit more budget to spare, custom gift sets or special deliveries might hit the spot. Hint: these ideas can also make perfect closing gifts for transactions set to close this winter!

A Gift Bag or Stocking Full of Goodies

Think of this like a treat yourself package with a festive twist. The first step is finding your local Homegoods (a SellWell team favorite), Michaels, or craft store and picking up a pack of Christmas stockings or holiday themed gift bags. Next step: customize each pack according to your giftee. Some classic ideas that never disappoint: your favorite scented candle, a bottle of wine, chocolates, a cozy throw blanket, or comfy slippers.

A Decadent Dessert Splurge

Picture this: the doorbell rings. You open the door (not knowing what it could possibly be). And there you find, a decadent dessert shipped straight to your door. Is there anything better? We personally love Jeni’s Ice Cream and Milk Bar as options, but you might also look into whether a favorite local sweets shop delivers. Supporting a local business and surprising someone on your list is a win, win!

A ‘Night In’ Gift Basket

Gift baskets are the perfect opportunity to customize your present to your giftee’s tastes, and a ‘Night In’ is a fitting theme for cold winter nights. To get started, consider an iTunes or Red Box gift card, too many snacks, and a bottle of wine. Pair that with a cozy throw blanket and your giftee is in for one amazing night in.

High Budget Gifts for Top Clients, Prospects & Vendors

Whoever's at the top of your gift list, whether it be top clients, vendors, or family members, they deserve the best. These gifts are on the pricier side, but are sure to make your giftee smile and then some. There's something for everyone here!

A Trip to the Spa

Not to state the obvious, but who doesn’t love a trip to the spa? This is an especially great option for new parents (or any parents!) — or for clients who recently moved to the area. Of course, a gift card for a massage or facial will always be well received, but you could also get more personal with it. Consider gifting the next three manicures to a client at their favorite salon as a fun surprise!

Cost: $100+

A ‘Night Out’ Package

What’s one step up from a night in? How about a night out! Start with an Uber or Lyft gift card so they can ride in style, and then pick a restaurant, movie theater, or even a show they may enjoy. If they are new to the area, this is a great way to introduce them to your community’s finest.

A Hibachi Grill or Pizza Oven for the Home Chef

Last but not least, our favorite gift of the year is a gift for the home chef or entertainer. The Hibachi Grill is tons of fun to bring out for a party or special family dinner — while the pizza oven whips up delicious pizzas in minutes. Both make fabulous, thoughtful gifts for anyone in your life that appreciates great cuisine (and new homeowners, too!).
